Who We Are
Our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most of all in our actions. For almost two decades we have been helping to bring food, clothing, sleeping bags and tents and the love of Christ in Bibles and New Testaments to the homeless of Portland, OR. We meet them where they are - on the streets, in the highways and byways in many different parts of the city and surrounding suburbs. From the moment we started doing so, our goal was to turn things around for people who are without hope. We have at times joined other groups, but most often make distributions on our own. But we understood that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Turn It Around Now. We hope that you will join us to make a positive change for the poor and homeless.

What We Do
Provide direct necessities to the poor and homeless by:
​
raising funds, purchasing fresh food for distribution, and
buying temperature-appropriate sleeping bags, clothes, and tents through inexpensive outlets and stores
driving downtown and searching for people who are not in shelters, and clearly in need
approaching these people with respect and asking what they need then providing it
offering a New Testament or full Bible for their spiritual food
praying with them when desired and appropriate
providing information on resources locally that they can access
receiving en kind donations of sleeping bags, and clothing
Community Outreach
Helping those who are homeless, and often hopeless
We are motivated by our Lord Jesus, who in Matthew 25 in the parable of the sheep and the goats exhorted us to provide food and drink to the hungry and thirsty, provide clothing and shelter to those who lack this, and provide spiritual food in the form of His Word in the Bible to those who are in the prison of their own lives and circumstances. We also provide information on local resources for shelter and when this is appropriate.
Transforming Lives
Turn It Around Now is dedicated to providing the homeless of Portland, Oregon with much needed basic necessities - food, clothing, sleeping bags, tents - and spiritual food in the form of Bibles and New Testaments. Many lack any place to stay. Lend a helping hand and join our efforts today.
